News article in local press by Anita Howe (Surrey Comet)

................................

I have visited Charlotte for nearly a year now, seeing her on average every 2-3 weeks and have been very impressed. Without Sports massage, my body would give up fairly quickly. I have developed long term injuries in the past but thanks to Charlotte I am injury free.

The level of attention and stretching Charlotte offers is unbelievably good value for money and I will continue to use and recommend her to all my fellow athletes.

Due to a degenerative condition in my spine, I suffer with chronic back pain and experience muscular spasms, particularly around my neck and shoulders.  After trying various treatments over the years I decided to try massage to see if I would benefit from this.  At first I had weekly sports massages, as my muscles were very tight and needed to be released and once this was achieved I continued with fortnightly massages.  Through massage my condition has stabilised; I have experienced considerable pain relief, which has enabled me to stop taking prescribed medication, I rarely have muscle spasms and have significantly better mobility in my neck.

I met Charlotte a year ago after on a friend's recommendation. I was in a lot of pain at the time (lower back), which I put down to my life style taking its toll: office job, 2 little children, motorbike riding and bruising from football.

A first couple of sessions with Charlotte were great and worked for me as a proper pain relief. I soon felt up-right again and most of the tension had gone, which was a blessing for my mental state and I could sleep again properly. Charlotte also spent time understanding the extent of my injuries and possible causes for the back pain and showed me a number of stretches and exercises that I could do on a regular basis to improve posture and strengthen the key muscles. This worked for me and also prompted me to see a specialist and work further on my posture which was never great despite me being quite active and sporty.

A year on I feel a lot better in myself. I do still have a massage every 4-6 weeks, but less for pain relief and more for relaxing the mind and muscles that still get football punishment. Deep tissue massage is the best and I really notice it when I do play football. I feel more relaxed, lighter and agile. I started doing yoga and pilate to help the lower back. And the life style has not changed either; I just enjoy everything that I mentioned above a bit more because the pain has gone.
